Always use plumbers putty to install stainless steel sink strainer, do not buy the plastic strainers.
I like plumbers putty, however, follow sink manufacturer's instructions about what to use to seal strainer to their sink...some sinks will be harmed by plumbers putty.
Always install finish flooring UNDER the bathroom stool, NEVER around the stool. Do not caulk the bottom of the stool...you can detect when it starts leaking if not caulked.
Most plastic laminate (formica) tops will scratch. You CAN get some colors that do NOT. Ask about it when you order tops.
Sinks must be sealed to countertop or water will leak under your sink. Use quality acrylic latex caulk, instead of silicone.
Change all electrical outlets within 6 feet of sinks or tub to GFI type. It's YOUR life.
When running caulking, use blue tape on either side for a neat, professional look. (Smear with finger onto tape for best effect)
Nothing is free. Installation or otherwise. This will never change. Ever.
Most of the time, the best is not good enough. So, if you don't use the best, you wasted your time and money.

Use corks to fill holes in cedar made by carpenter bees.

Never use WD40 around the house...buy silicone spray lubricant from the car parts store. It will not stain your clothes when dry, nor will it gather dirt like WD40 does.
Lowes sells a small plastic bottle with a wheel on it to apply grout sealer to the grout lines in your ceramic tile floor. Works perfect.

If a screw is loose in hole is wood, stick a matchstick or toothpick in before you screw it in to make the screw fit tight. Any sliver of wood will do.
When patching holes in sheetrock or plaster, go to Full Line Lumber here in Clinton, and purchase "90 minute fast dry powdered sheet rock mud". All the pros use it. It dries fast and does not shrink or crack like regular mud.
Water still running out of that copper pipe you want to solder? Stick a piece of white bread in it, and solder away. Flush the line when done.
Barkeepers Friend cleanser cleans stainless steel sinks like new. Country Mart has it.
L&M Plumbing sells silicone lubricant for faucet stems and washers that makes new ones work better and old ones work like new.
"Fiberglas Jelly" auto body filler is also made for wood and fiberglas. Get it at O'Reilly's Autoparts. Use surform on it quickly, or it will get so hard you will have to grind it down. It works great on wood door jambs, garage door panels, window and door sills, and any where you need to fill a hole, crack, or repair damage. It especially works great on exterior wood. Use oil primer and latex finish.
